Our Fabulous Cruise!

We had a fabulous time on our cruise!  We left from Mobile on the Carnival Elation.  It was a 5 night cruise (and the first 5 nights that I had ever left Lara...) and it was FABULOUS!  We went to Cozumel and Calica, Mexico, had food at our every beckon call, and relaxed more than I think we ever had!  It was a wonderful getaway!

Our first view of the ship!  It was HUGE!

Ready to step on board!

My "sail-away" drink!  Off to sea!

Looking out the front of the boat... it was WINDY!

Night 1 at dinner!  We saw our Huntsville friends on board and they took this nice picture for us! :-)

We had different towel creatures from our cleaning guy every night!  So funny!

Formal Night on the ship.

A beautiful sunset at sea!!

Just stepping onto the port in Cozumel!

The AMAZINGLY blue water!  Unbelievable!

Waiting for our excursion to begin!
In Cozumel we booked an excursion to ride Beach buggies and snorkel!  It was a lot of fun!  We hopped in the beach buggy, drove about 30 minutes on the island of Cozumel to Punta Sur.  Once we got there we got to see a very tiny Mayan ruin, a lighthouse, some scary alligators and enjoy a nice mexican lunch by the beach after we went snorkeling!  It was beautiful and relaxing!  Definitely worth the money in my opinion!

About to head off in the beach buggy!

Beautiful water we saw as we were driving along!

It was DUSTY!

The very tiny Mayan ruin.  This was apparently a hurricane warning system that they had.  There was a conch shell in the top that would sound if the wind reached a certain velocity... interesting, but only about 3 feet tall! :-)

Alligators... eeek!

On top of the tree house looking over the swamp on one side and the beautiful beach on the other!

Paradise!

Passengers in the beach buggy... I felt much safer when Lucas was driving....

The light house!

About to go snorkeling... too bad we didn't have a waterproof camera!  The fish and reef were pretty amazing!

On top of the light house... it was a LONG climb up very tiny steep steps, but an awesome view!

The water can't get much prettier than that!

The port in Calica was just an industrial port, so nothing like Cozumel.  We had to take a Van to get to our excursion site.  For this excursion we were going to take an ATV tour, see a cave, swim in a natural cenote and snorkel again!  This one was my favorite by far!  SOOOO much fun! :-)

The not very exciting cave... it would have been cool if they had let us explore a little... but they didn't!

Lucas in his gear! ;-)

In the cave!

One of my favorite parts of the whole trip... This was beautiful and SOOO refreshing on a hot day!  Apparently you can go cave diving from here.  We had some goggles to go look down in the cave... I don't think cave diving would be for me... scary!

The beach we ended up at!  Just our little group on this whole beach (about 12 people!)

Beautiful!

About to go snorkeling again!  This reef was WAY nicer than the other!  We saw SOOOOOO many fish.  Very cool!

Heading back on my ATV!

Lucas ready to go!  And yes, the mask was definitely necessary!  I think this might have been the dustiest place I've ever seen!

We are already ready to plan our next trip! Next time I think we'll try to go with a group of people.  It was a blast!
