Josh & Krystal's Wedding

By the time we got to the wedding, Lara was fast asleep! Finally, she decided that she really did need that nap. I had great hopes that she would sleep through the wedding!

But of course she woke up just as the music started! She is such a good baby, that I wasn't too worried about her crying through the service, but she has started really liking to "talk" so I thought it would be a good idea to take her out before she caused too much commotion during the wedding! Thankfully they had every thing piped out to the speakers in the lobby so we still got to listen!

Here's Mom and Denise before the wedding!

Such a nice wedding, and a beautiful church!

Granpa came to check on us about halfway through the wedding, so he started playing with Lara! She had so much fun with him! (Look at her cute new shoes that her Vovo sent her from Brazil!)

Too bad Lara kept taking them off! She sure thought they were cool too!

Shoe ears!

And, yes, I did let her crawl around on the floor of the church... what can I say? it made her happy!

Getting in the car to go to the reception! Lara thought she needed some water!

She also thought it would be fun to drive!

Granpa and Lara!

She thought that the AC was SO funny! :-)

Haha - crazy hair!

We got to see my friend Karen & Joel at the wedding!

Me & Dad! :-)

Lara & Granna

Coolest Groom's cake ever! Kyle Field! So many good memories there!

Attempt at a Family portrait.. haha! The three of us are there, that's about all I can say!

Aww look at those curls in the Texas Humidity!

Daddy & Lara dancing :-) Love it!

It was a really nice wedding and Lara was a trooper! Congratulations to Josh and Krystal!

Trip to Texas - July 2010

We set off for Lara's first trip to Texas! We knew it was going to be a long trip, and we weren't sure how well Lara was going to do, especially since she is so mobile now and not a fan of being strapped in. So, 13+ hours strapped in the car did not seem like a good thing, but she did surprisingly well!

We decided to break the trip into 2 days. We left after work and arrived in Louisiana around 1:00 AM. This worked out pretty well, since the majority of the trip was after Lara's bedtime! We stayed with my Aunt Carol & Uncle Billy. Lara woke up when we arrived, but much to my surprise went back to bed in the pack and play without a peep! My perfect little girl :-)

We hung around a little the next morning and then headed off on the second half of the trip to Waco. Lara was very glad to see her Granna & Granpa, and we were excited to see all of the remodels that they had done! We relaxed that night and into the next day, and then Lucas headed off to College Station for our friend Josh's Bachelor Party. Mom was planning to take Lara and I to College Station the next day to meet back with Lucas.

Lucas and I then headed on to my friend Krissy's house. She lives in Houston (where the wedding was) but if course not very close! But, it was good to see her none the less! Plus we got to eat some Panda Express! Yummy! I sure do with we had one of those in Huntsville! We visited for a little and then we had to drive a little over an hour to get to the rehearsal. Lara and I played in the back of the church, then it was off to the Rehearsal Dinner at Hasta la Pasta... What a name! ha! It was good and good to see some old friends! After the rehearsal dinner (and WAY past Lara's bedtime) we headed back to Krissy's house to stay the night. Krissy and I stayed up late talking, and Lucas and Lara went to bed!

In the morning we got up and got ready, then headed to meet my friend Randa for breakfast! It is always SO good to see her! I wish we lived closer and could get together more often! Well, Lucas had to be at the Reception place at 12:00, so we didn't get a chance to go visit anyone else... :-(

Here is Randa and Lara (it was so humid that the lens fogged up... I didn't realize until it was too late, so this is the best picture I got :-(

Me, Randa, & Lara

My parents were planning on coming in for the wedding, so the plan was that Lucas would drop me and Lara off at the galleria and then my parents would meet me there. Well, when we were almost there, I realized that our plan wasn't going to work, because I couldn't lug the carseat around with me all over the mall! So we headed to the reception place and my parents ended up meeting us there. We then went to an outlet mall there and walked around and bought a few cute things for Lara! I love shopping for her!

Lara looking at the big fish in the Bass Pro Shop!

One tired little girl who refused to take a nap! There's just too much to see I guess!

We left the mall and went over to a hotel to get changed for the wedding, the we headed over to the wedding!

7 Month Leaf Picture

It's getting harder and harder to get a good picture of Lara on her leaf for her monthly picture... She is constantly wanting to roll, crawl, or be anywhere other than the leaf!

Here is the best one that we got! My "little" girl is getting so big!

Below are our attempts to get a good picture! Ha!

4,5 & 6 month Comparison

Here is Lara at 4, 5 & 6 months! Definitely not as drastic of a change compared to 1,2 & 3 months, but she's still growing fast! What a great little girl she is!

7 months Old!

I can't believe that my sweet girl is already 7 months old! (I know I say this every month, but seriously, time goes by way too quickly!)

Here are some things that Lara is doing at 7 months:

* She is can go from sitting to crawling (has been able to for a while) and now from crawling to sitting to standing! She enjoys going wherever she wants now, but gets frustrated when she can't quite get to something!

* She is pretty much done with the army crawl now, and crawls (very quickly) on her hands and knees or hands and feet, depending on what kind of surface she's on.

* Lara is pulling up on EVERYTHING! The babyproofing has officially begun. (Why is it that in a room full of toys she seems to like electrical cords, the laptop and anything breakable more?!)

* We moved her matress down because she was pulling up so much and attempting to use the bumper in her bed as a step to get over...

* She has started letting go of whatever she is holding on to and standing solo for short amounts of time (10-15 seconds)

* We bought her some more age appropriate toys for her 7 month birthday! Things that have lots of buttons and light up and play music! She LOVES them! Maybe she'll stay away from the remote now....

* We are trying to do solid food one time a day now (usually at our dinner time), but don't stress if we don't get to it! She has now tried avocado, banana, rice cereal, and sweet potato. She is not thrilled with any of them except for avocados... Hey, it's supposed to be brain food right? And at least it's green! :-)

* She has started playing peek-a-boo herself now! She'll raise something over her head and wait for us to say, "Where's Lara?" Then she'll pull it down and have the biggest grin on her face! Precious!

* She still says Da-da and Ba-ba ALL the time :-) Love it!

* She moved up to the next class at school (Normally they don't move until they are 1, but they felt like she was ready... I'm a little nervous about it, but I think she'll really enjoy having more toys to climb on, getting to go outside, and getting to participate in water days!)

* Lara is still sleeping great at night, although she has discovered that standing in the bed is much more fun that going to sleep... so this is proving to make bedtime (and naptimes) a little more difficult!

* We made our first LONG road trip to Texas and had a great time! She sure is a great traveler! Thank goodness!

* Still no teeth! But, she is definitely working on it!

* We don't go to the doc until 9 months again, so we won't have any more height/weight checks until then! She is definitely still growing though!

Wow! I can't believe how much she has learned this month! Crazy how quickly she learns now! I just love watching her discover new things! :-)

I'll post her 7 month pictures soon, plus pics from July 4th and our Texas adventure! So stay tuned!

It's World Cup Time!

Well, it's that time! It only happens once every 4 years, and being married to a Brazilian (and having a Brazilian daughter) means that we must get excited about the WORLD CUP!

This was the first day that Brazil played! Lara was decked out in her Brazil dress and hat (she is the cutest little brazilian ever if you ask me!) and I even have on my green to support the team!

She is just so cute in her outfit, so I had to include all three of these pictures! :-)

Too bad that Brazil didn't win this time... We did enjoy getting to go meet some other Brazilians in town to watch one of the games. Lucas already has plans to be in Brazil for the next world cup (2014). We'll have to see about that!

Pulling Up on Everything!

I actually got a picture of Lara's first attempt at pulling up! I can't believe how strong she is! She is growing so fast! Once she figures out how to go from crawling to sitting, we are in big trouble! Ha!

Almost there....

And we're up!

Fun with Friends!

We had Lara's friend Lydia and her parents Stacey and John over for some early morning swimming and fajitas! Oh how I love summer time!

It was Lydia's first time swimming and her and Lara had a good time in their matching floats, splashing each other and us! :-)

Lara is either waving at Daddy or splashing... hard to tell, but having fun either way!

My pretty girl!

Just having some girl talk!

Lydia in her cute swimsuit and hat!

Haha - Lounging in the float... what a life!

Finally got a picture with both girls looking at me!

Daddy and Lara after our big swim!

Lara was Loving Mrs. Stacey!

One of our friends little boys was turning 3 and had a carnival birthday party. I decided to try Lara out on the cars since she is sitting so well now! She did pretty good, but I walked around with her just in case! Now I can say she's been on her first carnival ride!

Daddy is so silly! Lara sure does love him though!

Melts my heart!

Trying to walk...
