Nina's Birth Day

Nina Laine Folegatti

7 lbs. 7 oz.
18 inches

My due date of May 5th came and went (much to my dismay!).  I was so hoping that our 3rd precious blessing would be here by Cinco de Mayo.  But, Nina had plans of her own!  After several doctors appointments we made the decision to be induced on Friday, May 9th.  I had been having pretty active labor for 2 full days and was so ready to hold her in my arms.

This delivery was very different from my other 2 since I went into labor on my own and had both Lara and Mari naturally without any medication.

We went into the hospital on Friday morning at 6am.  This was a much more pleasant drive to the hospital than the other two ;-)  I had time to take a nice shower, get ready, and Lucas and I had a nice, relaxed conversation on the way to the hospital.  We went up, checked in and waited for my amazing friend Jenny to call us back.  I got hooked up to the pitocin, then my Doctor came in and broke my water.  I decided to get an epidural and Nina was born a short time later (and smaller than either of the others... go figure!!)

I was a little disappointed that I had to have so many interventions for Nina to make her arrival, but looking back on it, I'm very glad that everything happened exactly how it happened.  God put everything together just how it was supposed to be.  My awesome friend Jenny (who just had a baby 6 weeks ago) was able to come be my nurse since her husband was off of work to watch her kids for the day.  My Doctor was actually on call that day, and the best anesthesiologist was on that day.  I'm thankful that I decided to get the epidural this time since Nina's umbilical cord was wrapped tightly around her neck.  The doctor was great about it and handled everything calmly and quickly.

So glad to have her in my arms and that she gets to share a birthday with her cousin Melissa and her Great, Great Aunt Linda! :-)

We had such a hard time picking out Mari's name that I was dreading picking out a name for a THIRD girl, but we actually decided on it pretty easily!  We had an L and M four letter name, so an N 4 letter name was a good fit!  Both of the other girls' middle names were after a family member, so we decided to name Nina after my Grandma and Mom (Their middle names are Delaine).  We wanted to stick with a 5 letter middle name for her too, so we just shortened it to Laine.  Now none of the girls can say that they were left out ;-)

We are already over the moon for our little Nina Laine!

Daddy gave her her first bath! :-)

Can't believe this amazing man is the father of THREE girls! :-) Love him so!

My most amazing (and best ever nurse) friend Jenny!  She has a 6 week old and still came and spent the majority of the day taking care of me!  Love her so and so glad she was able to be part of all three of my girls deliveries.  Couldn't have done it without her!!

May 2014 - Strawberry Picking!

We made our annual trip to Brown's Farm close to Huntsville to pick fresh strawberries with friends.  I was 2 days past my due date with Nina at this point so it wasn't the funnest experience to continually bend over to pick the strawberries, but thankfully Lara was a great helper and picked a whole bucket of strawberries for me!  And as always, Mari LOVED it and did not disappoint with her messiness.  She kept picking a strawberry and asking, "Mommy is this one good?" I'd say yes, put it in the bucket, and she'd say, "Mmmmm that one was yummy mommy!" Needless to say, she wan't a huge help at filling the bucket :-)

Strawberry face :-)

Love these guys!

April 2014 - Easter!

Happy Easter!

Our church had been asking everyone that could to come to the service that had less people, because they were expecting a large crowd for Easter Sunday.  So our small group decided to meet at one of our houses, live stream the sermon and do a pot luck breakfast to lessen the load on Sunday for the service and the kids area.  It was one of the best and most enjoyable Easter Sundays I've had.  So much fun to spend the day with our Huntsville "family"!  The girls were pretty excited about their new Easter dresses that Grammy and Papa got for them, so I had to try to get a few pictures of the girls in their new dresses! :-)

Love this sweet girl! Grumpy face and all :-)

My little bookworm!

:-)

Got a few cute ones of the girls together!

And a few outtakes ;-)

And just because they're cute :-) Two cute Fairies trying on their wings from their Easter baskets!

Mari's 2nd Birthday

How is it possible that by sweet, crazy, spunky, sassy Mar-Mar is 2 years old?!  I love this little bundle of fire more every day.  She loves to sing, dance, make us laugh and talks more than any 2 year old I've ever met.  Lucas and I often joke that she says every thought that enters her head!  She still loves Ah-Ah her monkey, has 16 teeth, loves playing with her babies, puzzles, "reading" books (aka making up words or songs), and watching Tangled, her favorite movie!  Her and Lara are having more and more fun playing together and fighting together ;-)  So fun to watch them grow up together.  They love playing dress up together and doing "shows" for me!

My parents came to town for Mari's birthday and we had a little family party.  We also had a party with her friends, but I forgot to take a single pictures... bad mommy!

Mari was all about her birthday cake!

Love how much they love each other! Lara was pretty excited about Mari's cake too!

New outside toys from Granna and Granpa! :-) Yay fun!

Happy Birthday Mari Luiza! :-)

January 2014 - Alabama Snow!

Every year we seem to get one good snow that shuts everything down for a week!  We got about 6-8 inches!  And it was awesome fun!  So thankful we don't get snow like this more often though...

Love how excited the girls were about the snow!

Laundry basket sledding and snow angels! Fun times!

The pond was frozen on the top, so we had fun throwing snow balls and watching them break on the top, until Hailey went after one and fell in a weak spot in the pond.  She did get out on her own but it took her a while to stop shaking.  Silly dog!

Yay! Snow! :-)

January 2014 - Texas - Back to the Mayborn

Of course we couldn't go to Waco without making a trip to the Mayborn Museum at Baylor.  Lara LOVES this place and it has been so fun to see her get more and more interested in the different exhibits every time we go.  Mari really enjoyed it this time too!

Mari LOVED riding on this "horse"

So much fun building log cabins and milking the cow!

Dress up fun!

So many fun things to do!

Giant bubbles and rubber duck racing... doesn't get much better than that!

January 2014 - Texas - Trip to Granbury

Grammy and Papa had just gotten back from a long trip, so we decided to make a day trip to see them in Granbury.  So much fun and so glad we did!

We had a great time going to a local playground and walking around what used to be their beautiful lake.

Mari Loved this playground.  So much for her to see and do!

Lara had a great time too.  She is becoming quite the climber!

Such a fun little playhouse!

The many faces of MarMar :-)

So much fun with Granna, Grammy and Papa

Right after the girls swang on the tire swing.  Lara only made it in one picture because she spun around one too many times... Thankfully she didn't actually get sick ;-)

Feeding the ducks and geese at the lake - Where we were standing used to be far over our heads in the water.  Hard to believe that the lake could be THIS low.  So crazy.  Hoping it will come back up some day soon.

The girls thought it was pretty awesome though!
