Sweet Lara is 8 months old!

Here is the best we got of the leaf picture this time... It's getting increasingly harder to keep her in one place long enough to snap the picture! ha! Plus she's about to outgrow the leaf as you can see... hopefully we'll make it to 1 year and then we can find something a little bigger to use as a comparison!

 

Here are some things that Lara is doing at 8 months:

 

* She has 2 teeth (and is working on at least one more)!

* She can stand by herself for a minute or two by herself now!

* She can squat and stand up without holding onto anything (She's going to be walking so soon!)

* We're trying to do solid food two times a day now. Lara still isn't a big fan, although I've figured out that she likes chunks of food that she can pick up better than normal pureed baby food. We've tried sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, zucchini, bananas, blueberries, oatmeal, watermelon and of course her favorite, avocado.

* She's started reaching for things that she wants (almost like pointing but with her whole hand)

* She waves Hi and Bye about 75% of the time when prompted! So cute!

* She has started clapping her hands if we clap our hands and making some type of noise when we say "Yay!"

* She LOVES Hailey more than ever... too bad the love is not reciprocated...

* She taken one or two steps a couple of times to get to me or Lucas or a toy that she wants, but still prefers crawling or cruising to get where she wants.  But, she's getting braver by the day... it won't be long until she's running around everywhere.

* Lara is cruising everywhere! This month she discovered that there are things behind the cabinet doors... Thankfully she usually just plays peek-a-boo with the things in the cabinets, i.e. she likes opening and closing the doors!  But, I'm sure this will change...

* She now blows raspberries all the time and is making the p and bz sound a lot!  Still no ma-ma... I think she's just being stubborn!
