Me and Lucas

TEXAS the BEST of the 50 states!

We made our 12 hour trek to Texas for the fourth of July week. We spent the first part of the week in Granbury, Texas at my Grammy and Papa's house for our annual family reunion! It is always great to see family! One of my oldest and dearest friends, Randa (my maid of honor) came to see me while we were there. It was great to catch up! We played numerous games (as is customary of the Ezell family), skiied, tubed, knee-boarded and watched the fireworks from the lake! I love that lake... guess that's why we chose to get married there! :-) After the fourth we went back to Waco, where my parents live and relaxed for a few days and got to catch up with some more friends! We had Kevin and Denise over for a cookout, and enjoyed playing our new Wii! I think the best part about the Wii is trying to make the Miis! :-) I got to eat dinner with one of my best friends Karen! Seeing all of these people really made me miss home! We decided to take a trip down to College Station (Whoop! I missed that Aggie campus) . Lucas got to go by and see some of his friends that he worked with when we were in school. He worked for the Athletic Department at Texas A&M. I think I asked him about 50 times while we were in College Station if we could move back there... So many good memories! One of my best friends Krissy came up from Houston to eat dinner with us at Casa Ole! Mmmmmmm... I miss that green sauce! ;-) Then we went over to the Fox and Hound where we spent many evenings while we were in college hanging out with the Brazilian club and watching various sporting events... of course everyone wanted to play pool (which I am horrible at by the way...). We met one of Lucas and my really good friends, and Lucas' best man Josh (who I have known since like 3rd grade) and his girlfriend Krystle there and had a good time playing pool (I attempted, and actually did manage to get at least one ball in the hole!). Then Krissy had to head home because she had to work in the morning, but we couldn't leave without a trip to Marble Slab (Krissy-Chocolate with Cookie dough and a little bit of birthday cake ice cream on top and Me-cheesecake ice cream with chocolate chips!) I remember when the people who worked there used to have our order memorized! My cousin Melissa was supposed to meet us there also (she lives in Huntsville, Texas), but she ended up having to work, so unfortunately, I didn't get to see her... Miss you cousin! We made it back to Waco about 1 in the morning and were planning on meeting with the pastor who married us (he's the music director at my church at home and a close friend) at 8:30. It was a strecth, but we did manage to wake up! Then it was time to head back to Granbury to see Grammy and Papa one more time! No skiing for me this time, since I pulled my hamstring skiing (or should I say, attempting to remember how to ski). So I stuck with the knee board (my personal favorite anyways!) Then of course it was the time I always dread when I go home... having to say good bye to the people I love most in this world! But it was time to go back, and I was looking forward to getting back to Huntsville and seeing all of my friends there again! My parents mentioned to us that Cracker Barrel rents Books on Tape (I know it sounds corny, but it makes the time go by much quicker!) So we stopped at a cracker barrel in Fort Worth and got a 12 hour set! So we were off! Now we're back home, and back into the routine! I do love it here, but I sure do miss all of those wonderful things about home! Anyways, Pictures of the week to come...
